Scoutmaster retires
A celebration of John Lyman's service to Boy Scout Troop 1009 will be held Saturday, June 7, at 3 p.m. at Christian Community Presbyterian Church. RSVP to Dawn McDaniel at 301-249-3398 by May 24.
Boy Scouting
National Capital Area Council Boy Scouts of America and the Enterprise District seek Scouts and adults to join them. The district and its committee provide an adventure for each Scout, young and old.
District Committee meets the fourth Thursday of each month at 7:30 p.m. at the city gym; District Commissioners meet the fourth Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 16621 Sylvan Drive; and the District Roundtable meets the second Tuesday of each month at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Prospect Hill Road, Glenn Dale. The district seeks volunteer adults, sponsorship for new Scouting units and youth who desire to meet the challenge of the Scouting program.

Cub Camp 2008
The theme for the 2008 National Capital Area Council Cub Scout Day Camps is "Wild, Wacky, Wonderful Wheels." The day camp theme includes just about everything that rotates - wheels on a car, train wheels, Ferris wheels, hamster wheels, roller skate wheels, the Earth, skateboard and bicycle wheels, spinning tops, pizza wheels, clockworks, color wheels.
Boys in grades one, as of September 2008, through four are eligible to attend the camp. The camp will be held at Bowie State University June 16-20. For information, e-mail to enterpriseBSA@comcast.net.

Girl Scouting
Ongoing registration is being taken for Girl Scouts and adult leaders kindergarten through high school in the Bowie area. Flag retirement
Boy Scout Troop 1688 collects worn flags at the recycling area behind Free State Shopping Center the first Saturday of each month, rain or shine, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. then disposes of them properly at a campfire.
